We have several different designs of augers for drilling and sampling soils and clays. These include: open Spiral Augers; and several shell type augers, SOS - Spiral Tipped Auger; a SON - Double Cutter Auger; a SOO - Single Cutter Auger; and a Jarret Style Auger. Standard sizes are 50mm (2"), 62mm, 75mm & 100mm (4") and some others made-to-order are available.

We have several special purpose samplers, made for specific soil conditions or for specific sampling requirements. These include: The Gouge Auger, the Piston Sampler, the Russian D-Sampler, the Push Tube Sampler and the Core Barrel sampler.

For sampling below the water table it requires specialised equipment to hold the fluid samples and to prevent the hole collapsing. One-off samples can be achieved using one of the special samplers but for continuous sampling the hole will need Casing (a liner to prevent the hole collapsing) and if the material is fluid, a Sludger/Baler is required.

The Drillmite is a portable power drive unit for the augers and replaces the manually turned T-handle. It is compatible with all our equipment and can be adapted to suit most other styles of equipment connections.

The Sandrill is a portable hydraulic unit that is used to sample sand or very sandy soils to depths up to 100 metres. It is designed to be hand carried for use on remote or difficult to access sites and is easy to setup and use by local unskilled labour. It is also ideal for environmentally sensitive sites because it does not require access roads, water supply/disposal and has a small footprint and very low noise levels.

The Extension Rods are available in steel or aluminium or stainless steel with either fine thread, coarse thread, notch coupling or hex coupling. Standard lengths are 1.0 metres (39") or 1.5 metres (4'11") or they can be made-to-order.

Accessories is a broad term used to describe all the other bits & pieces available, including T-handles, Tommy Bars, Carry Bags, Tool Boxes, Chisels, Star Drills, etc.
