SOC - STICKY WET CLAY AUGER

Item code SOC*****, This new soil auger was developed primarily for its easy to clean features when used in sticky clays. The wider side openings, new tip and cutter design make the difference. The wider side openings reduced the augers rigidity so it has been shortened by approximately 100mm to 350mm, to compensate. The modified spiral tip has superior penetration capabilities. The auger is available in head only or shanked to 1.0 metre and with either thread connection.

SPLIT TUBE SAMPLER

Item code SPLIT*****, The Split-Tube sampler is for taking undisturbed samples in firm soils. The stainless steel tube is split into two longitudinal halves with threaded retainers on both ends to hold the halves together. It is driven into the soil using a Slide Hammer. The end retainers are unscrewed using the C-spanners supplied and the tube halves are easily parted exposing the cored sample. The SPLIT5035C sampler is 48mm OD, the sample is 40mm diameter and is 350mm sample length. The SPLIT6035C sampler is 60mm OD and the sample is 52mm x 350mm long. The SPLIT6035C is much more difficult to hammer into firm soils so is best for the softer soils.

UNDISTURBED WET SAMPLER

Item code UWS33***, This sampler is for obtaining undisturbed samples in water saturated materials and retains the sample inside a removable soft clear plastic tube using a plastic sample retainer (split finger) one way valve. The sampler is made from stainless steel tube with a threaded removable nose piece and is easily pushed in by hand. The plastic sample retaining valve is reusable and the soft clear plastic tubing is easily sealed for sample transportation, gives a clear view of the sample and is easy to cut open for access. Both components are inexpensive. The ID of the sample retaining valve is 34mm. The clear plastic tubing is currently only available in 44mm ID and the first 35mm ones are being manufactured now.

SOD - EXTRA BITE SOIL AUGER

Item code SOD*****, This new soil auger was developed to achieve extra bite in hard clay soils and by doing so requires extra effort to turn it. The body of the auger is the same as the SOS soil auger. The new cutter design has superior penetration capabilities in normal soils.
