TOMMY BARS

Item Code TB, To undo the threaded joints and to hold the "drill string" to prevent it from falling down the hole. Also used to remove the sample from the auger or for turning the capstan. Sold in pairs (2 bars).

STAR DRILLS & CHISELS

Item Code SD or CH, For breaking up hard layers or stones. Best used with Stone Catcher (chopper) and Slide Hammer.

STONE CATCHER (Chopper)

Item code SC, Is used to pick up stones. Best used with Star Drill and Slide Hammer.
Options: Sizes; Only available in coarse thread.

SLIDE HAMMER

Item code SH, Is used to aid Star Drill, Chisel or Stone Catcher to pick up stones. Comes with special T-Handle. Best used with Star Drill and Stone Catcher.
Options: Only available with Coarse Thread.

ADAPTORS

Item code ADAPT, For adapting (changing) from one thread type to another. We have 2 standard types of thread "fine" (5/8 inch or approx. 16mm Whitworth) and "coarse" 1&1/8 inch or approx. 28mm Acme) and we also provide inch or approx. 20mm NB pipe threads for some customers. The adaptors are available in any combination.
Options: From which thread to which thread.

T-HANDLES & CAPSTAN

Item code TH, For manual turning of the augers.
Item code CA*, Capstan is used with Tommy Bars, in restricted turning places or for more leverage.
Options: Length (short or long); Thread or coupling.

BORE PROTECTOR & BUSH

Item code BP, To support the top of the hole in dry loose sand or very wet soils, to prevent hole collapse and fall-in which contaminates the sample. It consists of a 1.0 metre long aluminium tube (can be cut to suit) fitted with handles and and an aluminium bush which slides over the shank on the auger.
Options: Spare bushes

CARRY BAGS

Item Code  CBAG, Made from canvas with reinforced ends, leather belts and a steel handle. Used to carry or store the equipment in and has ample room for a complete set (kit) of equipment and some extra gear.
Options: Two sizes available, 1.0 & 1.5 metre.
